iOS Dev Tools: Skills, Speech Swift, Workflow Audit Skill, Orcv
The best tools at your fingertips.
Hey! 👋
I appreciate you reading and supporting the newsletter.
Another Thursday, another issue with the latest tools to help you with daily tasks.
Let’s dive in!
Let’s connect on X (ex-Twitter) & LinkedIn! 🤝
Speed up your iOS builds
High-performing iOS teams don’t wait around, and you don’t have to either.
In this article, learn practical tactics like build caching, parallelization, and smarter testing to ship iOS faster and release with confidence.
Skills
Collection of skills for AI coding agents. Commands, hooks, and integrations that enhance development workflows.
Speech Swift
AI speech toolkit for Apple Silicon - ASR, TTS, speech-to-speech, VAD, and diarization powered by MLX and CoreML.
Workflow Audit Skill
A Claude Code plugin that audits SwiftUI user workflows for dead ends, broken promises, and UX friction.
Why you will like it:
5-layer UI audit: discover entry points, trace flows, detect issues, evaluate UX, verify data wiring.
Consume audit findings into a phased fix plan with per-task prompting.
Standardized rating format used by both skills.
Orcv
Orcv (ork-vee) is a macos app that lets you create virtual displays in an infinite canvas (zoom/pan), arrange them, create "savepoints" and rapidly jump between them, teleport windows or your mouse to or from them, or fullscreen one, all in a picture-in-picture style overlay you can keep on your main display.
Why you will like it:
You can freely interact with (
cmd+nby default - hover over one and hitcmd+wto close).Teleport your mouse or a window to a desktop by hovering it over a tile and then hitting “teleport” (
cmd+cmdby default).Create “savepoints” that save the orcv PiP window location and size, and canvas pan and zoom that you can recall (
cmd+0-9to save and0-9to recall by default).“Jump to” a specific or the next/prev desktop (
option+0-9andtab/shift+tabrespectively by default).Undo / redo history for canvas interactions like moving desktops, arranging, or moving or resizing the orcv PiP window itself.
Navigation forward / back for all jumps and navigations.
You can resize the canvas or stretch the canvas (hold
ctrlby default to resize instead of stretch, can be swapped via toggle).Fullscreen by hovering over a tile and hitting the shortcut (
shift+shiftby default, cmd+cmdto exit).Freely move the window by holding the move shortcut (
spaceby default) while hovering over any part of the orcv PiP window.
ScreenGeany AI
Ask AI about anything on your screen. One hotkey captures your display and gets an instant answer from Claude or GPT right on top of your current app. No screenshots saved, no copy-pasting, no tab-switching.
WhyFi
WhyFi lives in your macOS menu bar and keeps an eye on your Wi-Fi. It measures signal, router latency, internet quality, and DNS. Find out what's actually wrong when things are slow and learn how to fix it.
