Hey everyone! 👋
This is iOS Dev Tools weekly newsletter.
Each Thursday, I share the best tools for iOS developers.
Please hit that ❤️ & let’s connect on X (ex-Twitter)
📣 Reach iOS Developers
If you build a tool that solves a developer problem, I would love to help you reach iOS developers - hi@iosdev.tools
🛠 Sponsor: Appfigures - Actionable insights for data-driven mobile growth
Appfigures unlocks the full potential of your marketing with comprehensive business analytics, industry leading tools for App Store Optimization tools, and accurate app intelligence.
Pricetag
Pricetag is a native macOS app, that uses the App Store Connect API to automatically set subscription or In-App Purchase prices for all territories based on a selected Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) index.
Why you will like it:
Choose a built-in PPP index or create a custom data set if you already have a ratio of prices that you like.
Pricetag automates an otherwise tedious task, making it the companion for setting up pricing A/B tests.
It’s also possible to set the same prices as App Store Connect, and to perform price changes for individual countries.
Plus a lot of other benefits from being native, such as various sort and filter options, as well as dark mode.
Tuist
Tuist is a command line tool that leverages project generation to abstract intricacies of Xcode projects, and uses it as a foundation to help teams maintain and optimize their large modular projects.
Why you will like it:
Open source and written in Swift.
Generating projects on demand eliminates the need to include them in the Git repository, which eliminates merge conflicts.
Simply specify your focused targets, and Tuist will perform a thorough tree-shaking of the project graph. As a result - fast Xcode experience.
With Swift's DSL and familiar language, everyone can contribute to the project's evolution
Swift-based DSL simplifies the project's intricacies, making it easier to understand and maintain.
Snapshots
Snapshots by Emerge’s team is a product that allows mobile teams to confidently ship UI changes in their app and be notified of regressions before they make it to production — without maintaining any extra test suites or code — by re-using the same Previews you write in Xcode and Android Studio for regular feature development.
Why you will like it:
Snapshots runs on real simulators (iOS) for the most accurate snapshot generation. Managing devices in CI is a pain and it handles that for you.
Snapshots automatically shards our snapshot generation and diffing logic to get you faster results.
It automatically stores all generated snapshots separately from your code and associates it to the given commit SHA.
Instead of a manual recording process, it treats the base commit for every pull request as the "golden" set to compare against. When you are finished with your pull request and the snapshot changes are approved, simply merge the branch and it will automatically become the new "golden" set.
